March 19th, 1996. 16 years ago today - I had my thyroid removed along with most of the cancer - the remaining was "fried" in June of that year with Radioactive Iodine Ablation - RAI. St. Joseph's Day is a day I will always remember as the day my journey of healing began.
This year's appointment for a neck ultrasound and blood work is set for 10 days from now in Iowa City. I'm hoping my parathyroid hormone levels test normal. I'll try fasting this time - I've read it does make a differance.
