I'm wiped out. I can't help but wonder if somehow the iodine in food helps in the metabolism of those of us without thyroids. I know the literature says we don't need iodine, but I'm just tired. I can't blame lack of Synthroid since this Thyrogen protocol allows me to stay on my meds.
One high point of my day was discovering a sick deer outside the downstairs windows at work and looking deeply into her eyes, knowing she needs help. I called the Blackhawk Wildlife Rehab folks and Terese is looking into how we might be able to help her. The guys at work think she was hit by a car...her face is all swollen and her nose looks really messed up. She leans up against the windows downstairs - likely for warmth. Rumor has it some folks are tossing her apples and such, therefore she keeps hanging around. She needs a Vet and some TLC.
I do love animals. :-)
Today I also called U of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to verify that I am on the schedule properly next week. I also called the pharmacy to make sure they got the Thyrogen in. It's there. Now I need to write a check for $1300+ to pay for the injections. Insurance will kick in after I spend my deductable (and it won't be long now).
Well, since I am tired, I'm gonna go crash...
